Delanna is deceased except at the very beginning of Cross Over. In life she was a bubbly, life-loving, free spirit who adored the color pink and fawning over her son and daughter. She was married to Gareth Alcarin.
At certain points in her life she escaped the pain of her marriage and visited a few inns on several other worlds, dallying a little with a few handsome men and finding her own joy.
When her husband took a mistress and had a child with her, Delanna realized she could no longer keep smiling. She found strength and control in choosing her time of death.
