Well now I guess I should’ve listened
When you said you’d had enough.
A little trick I picked up from my father --
In one ear and out the other.

--“Should’ve Listened” by Nickelback

We had eternity and I threw it away.
You can never have it all -- you will end up losing in the end.
Galain lost An’Thaya three times and it was the third time that was the last time. Her soul shattered and unraveled and Agaru took her to a soulhealer, a fellow friend named Mira. She did the best that she could and in doing inadvertently wove herself and that of her father, Callan, into An’Thaya’s repaired soul.
There was no room for another. Not anymore. An’Thaya had already given herself to Callan and her soul was all that was needed to seal off one relationship and begin another.
Galain is still dealing with the loss of his wife to another and is going through a myriad of what-ifs and the emotions tied to those.
Pain is the standard at the moment. A bonding of just over 2,800 years and a marriage of 600 years can be washed away in an instant.

Sea Green Tears

How the hell’d we wind up like this
And why weren’t we able
Too see the signs that we missed
And try to turn the tables.
I wish you’d unclench your fists.
And unpack your suitcase.
Lately there’s been too much of this.
But don’t think it’s too late
Nothing’s wrong
Just as long as you know that someday I will
Someday, somehow
I’m gonna make it all right
But not right now.
I know you’re wondering when
You’re the only one who knows that.
Someday, somehow
I’m gonna make it all right
But now right now
I know you’re wondering when.
Well I’d hope that since we’re here anyway.
That would end up saying
Things we’ve always needed to say
So we could up staying
Now the story’s played out like
Just like a paperback novel
Let’s rewrite an ending that fits
Instead of a Hollywood horror.
Nothing’s wrong
Just as long as you know that someday I will
Someday, somehow
I’m gonna make it all right
But not right now
I know you’re wondering when
You’re the only one who knows that
Someday, somehow.
--“Someday” by Nickelback

What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.
-- Helen Keller
