“Joy of a Summer Morning”

My soul, my life, my universe, my soul.
My greatest loss.

Sometimes you think you’ve learned all the lessons you need to find the happiness you seek.
Sometimes you think you’ve found the happiness you need for a forever peace.
Sometimes you think you’ve got that forever peace and your future is sealed.

And then you find out you’re wrong.
There are still lessons to be learned.
Happiness is a fleeting wind.
Forever peace is a pine box six feet underground.
The future is never sealed.
Ghetsuhm was Galain’s second wife, but he is certain she was his foremost love despite the many millennia he spent with An’Thaya. To have lost Ghetsuhm has been a crushing blow to the Elen prince, but rather than harbor anger or hatred toward his former wife, Galain instead continues to love Ghetsuhm as much as ever, understanding subconsciously that one can never properly contain quicksilver and hope to keep it. He would infinitely prefer to have Ghetsuhm back by his side, but he harbors no illusions regarding the future however. Ghetsuhm has set herself on a separate path in life and Galain can only hope she finds what she is seeking. As for himself, Galain will never quite be over a certain blue-eyed, red-haired woman whose soul he once knew like his own.

I believe I can see the future
Because I repeat the same routine
I think I used to have a purpose
Then again, that might have been a dream

I think I used to have a voice
Now I never make a sound
I just do what I’ve been told
I really don’t want them to come around
Oh, no.

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

I can feel their eyes are watching
In case I lose myself again
Sometimes I think I’m happy here
Sometimes, yeah, I still pretend
I can’t remember how this got started
But I can tell you exactly how it will end.

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

(spoken)
I’m writing on a little piece of paper
I’m hoping someday you might find
Well, I’ll hide it behind something
They won’t look behind

I am still inside here
A little bit comes bleeding through
I wish this could have been any other way
But I just don’t know, I don’t know,
What else I can do…

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

(chorus repeats)

Every day is the same.
